As my regular readers can tell, there have been some changes at JasonDanielPhotography.com. Though it’s not 100% complete, I didn’t want to hold off on the changes for any longer - so here they are - warts and all. A few comments on the changes:
Project 365. My project to take a photo a day is still going strong. Though I’ve tried to customize WordPress to be a good PhotoBlog, in the end I really couldn’t do it without a crazy amount of time and hair pulling. Therefore, I’ve moved my Project 365 effort over to jasondanielphotography.com/today. I’m using PixelPost, some open-source PhotoBlog software. I hope it improves your photo viewing experience.
The Blog. The blog is back to being a blog. I hope to be more bloggy here. Stay tuned!
RSS Feeds. For you folks who consume my site via RSS - I’ve (hopefully) simplified my feeds. Visit the RSS link for more information on that.
If you see issues or bugs or general dumbness on the site, please feel free to contact me. Thanks!
Sunday morning of our camptrip to Wildman Ranch. The early morning sun created some great shadows as I explored the camp.
On our camptrip to Wildman Ranch, there was this downed tree that must have just fallen this spring. The tree had this great mushrooms on them - and they called me to take a picture of them. That’s what I get for eating wild mushrooms.
My brother, father, and I go camping every year with dozens of other guys to Wildman Ranch in Crivitz, Wisconsin. It’s a beautiful place, and I was happy to bring at least my Nikon point-and-shoot to the camp trip. This shot is right long the river at the campground.
I took the kids to a nearby park because it was such a beautiful day. There’s this “ride” that spins by using your own motion to power it. This isn’t my daughter - but I thought it was such a great shot I had to use it.
Ella enjoying her bouquet of dandelion flowers. Unfortunately this photo is a bit out of focus, but that’s what I get for shooting at f/1.8 — way too shallow DOF.
A nice candid of Ella and Miles.
My daughter Ella *loves* to pick flowers… that how it should be when you are five! This are some of Ella’s pickings from the day.
It was that time of year - the Grayslake Park District Dance Recital. I was working backstage, and grabbed a couple shots of some of the acts.
I ran over to the Bontanic Garden for lunch and grabbed a few shots. I thought the tulips and hedges on each level made an interesting shot.
